What is Functional Training?
Align Brooklyn’s one-one-one functional training programs combine mindful alignment techniques derived from yoga and Pilates with rehabilitation, strength and cardiovascular training. Functional training focuses on ensuring longevity by maintaining movement and conditioning, and can be customized toward individual goals that can include injury rehabilitation and general fitness.
Our techniques train muscle coordination, preparing you for daily tasks by simulating common movements you might do at home, at work, or in sports. By training the upper and lower body at the same time, functional fitness builds core stability and helps prevent injury.
Life is unpredictable! So, why train using predictable routines and equipment? Our studio is equip with kettlebells, light weights, TRX, TRX Rip trainers, ropes, BOSU balls, gliders, balance balls and Reebok core boards.
All of our programs are designed and supervised by Dr. Brown, an expert in exercise physiology and rehabilitation, which ensures that you achieve your goals in the most effective and efficient manner possible. Program design incorporates a full postural analysis including foot and body scan, appraisal of nutritional status by organ system, biomarker and cellular health screening and assessment of your personal goals.
